Sup buttercup I’m Tutie,

I’m a 20 year old mexican-american artist based in California (SoCal). I’ve always loved making art since I was really little and when it was time to graduate highschool I had no idea what I wanted to do. BUT I did know I wanted to work in a creative field, and here we are. I’m currently in my third year in art school and it’s definitely pushed me to run with it. A few random things about me: I love finger boarding, I LOVE SpongeBob and my favorite color is orange. I’m really into alternative/indie rock music from artists such as Turnover, WILLOW, Tame Impala, ROAR, Faye Webster, and Lunar Vacation. The list goes on, but music is forsure one on my top inspirations for my work.

For me, art has been my way to escape and became my way to really just express myself. I tend to have a hard time saying what I feel and think ,but when it comes to making art… everything flows so easily. My goal is to inspire others and share my perspectives about this silly little world we live in. I just want to remind people YOLO and to live with peace.

I recently created this little dude you might have seen, Mr.Rowdy. I was inspired by MF DOOM’s song “Kon Queso” when making him. The energy and the vibe of the song just clicked and Rowdy was born. There’s lots of ROWDY people in this world, so why not be rowdy back but the TUTIE WAY! Being Rowdy is simply taking control of your life, not giving a damn, and to be peaceful. People I know and strangers tend to say they admire my attitude and silly personality (aka being ROWDY). And as cliché as it sounds, life is too short so mind as well be ROWDY about it.
